Game tracking – what is it?
Game tracking, as the name suggests, is tracking game, for example during hunting, with a dog and its handler. It is regulated by law (Hunting Ordinance §17) that dogs trained in game tracking must be used when an animal has been shot. Tracking is also important in traffic accidents, as animals that have been hit by cars must be tracked down with the help of dogs.

But perhaps above all, tracking game is stimulating and fun for both dogs and their owners. Not only does the dog get to use its beloved nose, but it is also challenged, together with its handler, to navigate rough terrain – sometimes in difficult conditions. For a dog, tracking game can therefore be a real adventure.
In addition, a dog that can track is always appreciated by all hunting teams. So if any of these reasons tempt you to start training your dog to track game, you are welcome to take a course with us.
