When do you have problems with your dog?<\/h2>\n<p>The simplest answer is probably that a problem is what the dog owner perceives as a problem!<\/p>\n<p>A problem does not have to look the same to everyone; for some, it does not matter if the dog pulls on the leash, while for others it is a big problem.<br \/>\nBut one thing is certain \u2013 if you have a dog with \u2018problems\u2019 \u2013 then VERY many people around you will have opinions!<\/p>\n<h2>Get help with problems \u2013 for your sake and your dog&#8217;s<\/h2>\n<p>You will receive lots of good advice from those around you, usually well-intentioned, but it is important to be able to sort through it and ignore advice that conflicts with your own opinion or feelings about the right way to train your dog!<\/p>\n<p>Regardless of the nature or extent of the problem, you should seek help when you feel that everyday life with your dog is not working as it should!<\/p>\n<p>It should not be difficult to have a dog, and it should not be difficult to be a dog! Reasons for seeking help may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Difficulty meeting other dogs<\/li>\n<li>Uncertainty about surfaces, people, etc.<\/li>\n<li>The dog pulls on the leash<\/li>\n<li>Separation anxiety<\/li>\n<li>Various fears, e.g. fear of loud noises \u2013 the dog is afraid of gunshots or fireworks, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Aggression<\/li>\n<li>Outbursts<\/li>\n<li>Stress<\/li>\n<li>Hunting, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No problem is too big or too small to seek help for!<br \/>\nIt is often better to tackle a problem before it becomes too big \u2013 prevention is better than cure, as the saying goes!<\/p>\n<h2>Problem dog, consultation<\/h2>\n<p>During a consultation, we spend a lot of time trying to find the root causes of the problem.<br \/>\nIt doesn&#8217;t help you or your dog to just address the behaviour \u2013 we want to know WHAT is causing the dog to behave in a way that we dislike!<\/p>\n<p>A consultation includes 6 hours with a problem dog consultant, spread over five meetings, where we conduct an in-depth analysis of approximately 2 hours at the first meeting. After the meeting, the problem dog consultant works with all the data that has emerged and, based on this information, an individual training programme is designed and some measures may be proposed. At the second meeting, we go through your individual training programme and how you should train, and at the third and fourth meetings, we check in and follow up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRICE <\/strong>: 4100 SEK incl. Over the phone, you can receive guidance and advice to help you move forward with a minor problem. If you have an urgent problem, you can also call to receive advice and support.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRICE <\/strong>: 400 SEK, payable via Swish<\/p>\n<p>To book telephone counselling, call Agneta on 070-974 65 45.<\/p>\n<h3>What is a problem dog consultant\/dog psychologist?<\/h3>\n<p>This is a controversial term \u2013 what does dog psychologist actually mean and what do they do? Can anyone call themselves that?<br \/>\nUnfortunately, anyone can call themselves a dog psychologist; there are no requirements for training or documented knowledge. In an attempt to bring some order to this, there is a trade association called <a href=\"https:\/\/sverigeshundforetagare.se\/\">Sveriges Hundf\u00f6retagare \u2013 SHF (Swedish Dog Entrepreneurs)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To join SHF, you must have been approved on a course at one of SHF&#8217;s approved training providers. Since the term dog psychologist has been misused and in some cases has acquired negative connotations, some choose to call themselves \u2018problem dog consultants\u2019 instead. Dog schools&#8217; employed dog psychologists have training that qualifies them for membership in SHF.<\/p>\n<p>When you turn to a dog psychologist\/problem dog consultant, the goal is to map the dog&#8217;s behaviour and, in this way, find understanding and a solution to what you are looking for.<br \/>\nWe start from a dog&#8217;s natural behaviour, the specific behaviour of the breed and, of course, we look at what kind of individual it is. If you want to compare it to the human world, you could say that we are a kind of behavioural scientist for dogs!<\/p>\n<p>After attending a problem dog consultation, many people choose to book additional hours to achieve their ultimate goal.<\/p>\n<p>It is impossible to say how long it will take to achieve this, or to improve the problem, as it depends on many different factors, such as what problem you are seeking help for, why it has arisen and, above all, how much time, energy and commitment the dog owner is willing to invest!<\/p>\n<p>It is also important to remember that some behaviours are not problem behaviours!<br \/>\nSome behaviours are completely natural for dogs, but we humans may not think they fit into our society, or we may simply think that the dog is not behaving well.<\/p>\n<p>However, by learning to understand why the dog behaves in a certain way in a particular situation, you can adapt and gain a better understanding of your dog!<\/p>\n<h3>Where do we work?<\/h3>\n<p>Consultations take place at our premises in Sk\u00f6vde at B\u00e4ckaskogsv\u00e4gen 1, Aspelund, Sk\u00f6vde during daytime hours on weekdays. In special cases, consultations can take place at your home.
